Like Dante, in my middle years I have lost my way. The spirituality, harmony, values, and structure of my former life have been swept away by the killing of my 19 year old son, Eric. I am left adrift on a sea of dark currents and noxious winds. Without direction or destination, I wander the outer circles of hell. Although surrounded by loving family, friends, and community, I am alone in a lonely place. As I begin this journey to honor my son, I hope to also find some way to emerge from this abyss. So from now until the finish, I will pedal for the dead. Here are my travels.

  5. Remember even Mother Theresa had dark times and questioned her faith. It is part of our human nature to do so. God is always with us even though we question His prescence during difficult times. You are not alone on this journey!

  7. Wow...that's one heck of an opener. Pretty much sums up that "how are you doing" thing. so so very sorry. Dr. Bob - I like to do media relations, and if you'd like the media's help in spreading your word I'd love to act as "pre-runner". All I need is a map of your plan, or at least a couple day's notice of where you'll be. I know you have a lot going on, and maybe you just want to go with the flow, but if you'd like some help, just say the word. My keyboard is yours...
